Mizuki Tono

Mizuki is reserved and carries considerable emotional weight from the events of eight years earlier. She continues visiting Natsuki Tono's grave and has difficulty putting the past behind her.

She is afraid of dark, confined spaces, a weakness that becomes dangerous during the escalating incidents around Kitanosawa. At the same time, Mizuki can act decisively when someone else is endangered and is capable of considerable courage under pressure.

Her feelings for Takehiko Muto are apparent, although their circumstances have kept them apart. Shogo Hikawa also has feelings for her, but Mizuki does not reciprocate them romantically.

Mizuki is an ordinary human without supernatural abilities or formal investigative training. She works at Kitanosawa Lodge and knows the surrounding community and its history well.

She demonstrates enough proficiency with a rifle to use one effectively during the film's climactic events. When Conan is endangered during the confrontation with Keisuke Yamao, Mizuki fires accurately enough to intervene and help him.

Her practical knowledge of Kitanosawa also makes her useful as the visitors explore the relocated village and surrounding snowy terrain.

Mizuki is one of the childhood friends Conan Edogawa and his companions meet in Kitanosawa. The group includes Fuyumi Tachihara, Takehiko Muto, Shogo Hikawa and the recently returned Keisuke Yamao.

Her past becomes increasingly important after Touma Tachihara awakens from an eight-year coma. Touma cannot initially remember the night of his accident, but particular sights around Kitanosawa begin triggering fragments of his childhood memories.

Those memories reveal that Mizuki had argued with Natsuki on the night of the fatal traffic accident. During their confrontation, Mizuki pushed her sister, unintentionally sending her into the road immediately before Yamao's car struck her. Mizuki concealed her role and allowed the accident to be understood solely as Yamao's responsibility.

Shogo discovers Mizuki's secret and attempts to use the information to pressure her into marrying him. Mizuki confronts him shortly before his death, making her one of the suspects until Conan uncovers Yamao's responsibility for the murder.

Natsuki Tono is Mizuki's younger sister. Their relationship was troubled before the accident. [Mizuki accidentally pushed Natsuki Tono into the road during an argument, and the guilt over her sister's death remains with her for the following eight years.](#spoiler)

Takehiko Muto is Mizuki's childhood friend and romantic interest. Their feelings are mutual, and Takehiko Muto promises that he is willing to wait for her.

Touma Tachihara witnessed important events from the night of Natsuki's accident. His returning memories ultimately expose the secret Mizuki has carried for eight years.
