Tenko Tajima

Tenko is outwardly sociable with the other members of the company and has known Juri Maki for a long time. Her friendship does not prevent her from recognizing the problems created by Juri's influence over the production.

She is particularly sensitive to the way Juri treats Tooru Ban. Ban originally helped Juri establish herself, yet Juri has become the person effectively controlling the company, and Tenko has repeatedly criticized her husband over his willingness to tolerate the arrangement.

Tenko remains composed enough to defend herself when suspicion turns toward her during the flight.

Tenko is a professional actress and performs the role of Thérésa Tallien, a friend of Joséphine, in Josephine. Her established skills are theatrical rather than investigative or combat-related.

She carries vitamins during the flight and offers one to Juri Maki. This mundane action later becomes important because it gives investigators an initially plausible means by which poison might have been administered.

Tenko is introduced with the principal cast of Josephine before the final performance. She later accompanies Juri Maki, Bunjiro Narusawa, Tooru Ban, Natsuki Sakai and the others aboard Flight 865.

After Juri is poisoned, Kogoro initially accuses Tenko because Juri had taken a vitamin she supplied. Tenko immediately denies the accusation, and the theory fails to explain the actual method by which cyanide entered Juri's body.

Conan ultimately demonstrates that Natsuki used poisoned foundation rather than Tenko's vitamin. Tenko's strained feelings about Juri's control over Ban make her a plausible suspect, but she is innocent of the poisoning.

Tooru Ban is Tenko's husband. Tenko Tajima has repeatedly criticized Tooru Ban for allowing Juri Maki to dominate a production that he nominally directs.

Juri Maki is Tenko's old friend and co-star. Their relationship has become strained by Juri Maki's influence over Tooru Ban and the theatrical company.

Bunjiro Narusawa and Isao Shinjo perform alongside Tenko in Josephine.
