Kaoru Iwamoto

Iwamoto is cruel, predatory and willing to use violence against vulnerable people. His involvement in Ayaka's assault establishes his behavior before he ever receives Gantz weaponry.

He does not show meaningful remorse after entering the room. During the Tae mission, he willingly participates in hunting another human being and prepares to shoot her after locating her hiding place.

His confidence is undermined when he encounters an opponent who can exploit the Gantz suit more effectively than he can.

Iwamoto has no supernatural abilities or established specialized combat training.

He gains enhanced physical capabilities through the Gantz suit and uses the system's firearms during missions. He survives the Ring Alien hunt but is not established as an especially skilled combatant.

His reliance on Gantz equipment does not compensate for the difference in experience between him and the Tokyo team's veteran hunters.

Iwamoto arrives with Ayaka and the other perpetrators before the Ring Alien mission. He survives that hunt and is immediately drawn into Gantz's next assignment when the sphere identifies Tae as the target.

He finds Tae hiding and calls Haga and Mikawa over before preparing to shoot her.

An invisible Kurono intervenes and knocks Iwamoto unconscious with a single suit-enhanced punch while protecting Tae. The blow kills him, making Iwamoto the first human Kurono personally kills.

Ayaka Uranaka is Iwamoto's victim and enters Gantz alongside him and the other perpetrators.

Ryotarou Haga and Naoichi Mikawa accompany Iwamoto during the hunt for Tae.

Joji Tomioka and Yoshiaru Ueda are other members of the group connected to Ayaka's assault.

Tae Kojima becomes Iwamoto's assigned target during the human-hunting mission.

Kei Kurono intervenes when Iwamoto corners Tae and kills him with a single enhanced punch while protecting her.
