Personality
Personality
Juhiko is hostile toward outsiders and obedient to the Kitou Family hierarchy. He accepts violence as a routine means of maintaining the clan's authority and participates readily when his mother orders the family to confront Jiji and his friends.
He is also suspicious and attentive enough to challenge stories that do not fit what the family already knows. When Jiji and Okarun attempt to conceal Momo's presence, Juhiko and his relatives test their explanation rather than simply accepting it.
Like his brothers, Juhiko has been raised to regard the family's sacrifices as necessary. The survival of the village and preservation of the clan's traditions take precedence over the lives of outsiders selected as victims.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Juhiko is a Subterranean classified as an UMA. His true nature gives him a place among Dandadan's nonhuman inhabitants even though he ordinarily presents himself in a humanlike form.
He is an experienced hand-to-hand fighter. Juhiko can participate in coordinated attacks with his brothers and is physically capable of overpowering ordinary humans without relying on weapons.
His greatest practical advantage is the Kitou Family's numerical coordination. The brothers surround targets, attack together, and use their shared physical strength to pressure opponents who might defeat an individual family member.
Story Role
Story Role
Juhiko appears as part of the ominous Kitou presence surrounding Jiji's cursed house. He and the others monitor the newcomers before openly confronting them once Momo, Okarun, and Jiji begin uncovering the village's secrets.
He joins his brothers in attacking Momo at the hot springs and later confronts Jiji and Okarun at the house. Their violence leads directly into the protagonists' discovery of the enormous underground creature worshipped by the family.
The Kitous are revealed to be Subterraneans who have maintained human sacrifices for generations. Their supposed Tsuchinoko is the Mongolian Death Worm, whose presence is connected to the volcanic danger beneath the village.
Juhiko later returns during the Typhoon Human Arc after escaping custody with members of his family. Their pursuit of Momo brings the Kitous back into direct conflict with the expanding group surrounding her.
