Personality
Personality
Naki is domineering, prideful, fanatical, and fiercely protective of her family's authority. She considers the Kitou clan the true guardians of Byakuja Village because their sacrifices have supposedly prevented the volcano from destroying it.
Her devotion to tradition is inseparable from arrogance. Naki resents outsiders solving problems she regards as belonging to the Kitou Family and becomes furious when Momo interferes with the creature the family worships.
She is pragmatic enough to cooperate with enemies when survival requires it, but grudges remain central to her personality. Naki treats insults to her family or religious system as personal offenses that can justify extreme retaliation.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Naki possesses extraordinary physical strength. She can send Momo through multiple walls with direct strikes and continue fighting after injuries that would incapacitate an ordinary elderly person.
Her speed and reflexes are similarly enhanced. Naki can dodge improvised projectiles and exchange rapid close-range attacks with experienced supernatural fighters.
She practices a martial-arts style drawing heavily on snake-like movements. Her named Jennifer Lopez Anaconda attack consists of a powerful double strike capable of launching opponents backward.
Naki's abnormal physicality is later explained by the revelation that she is not an ordinary human but a Subterranean, part of a subterranean UMA species originating beneath the Earth.
Story Role
Story Role
Naki appears when Momo and Okarun accompany Jin Enjouji to his family home in Byakuja Village. The Kitou Family owns the property and becomes increasingly hostile once it realizes that Jiji has brought people investigating the supernatural activity around the house.
Naki eventually reveals the sacrificial tradition and attempts to offer Momo, Okarun, and Jiji to the giant creature living beneath the village.
The resulting confrontation exposes the secret system the Kitou Family has maintained for generations. Momo's attempt to prevent the volcano from destroying the village directly challenges Naki's belief that only the Kitou clan has the right to protect it.
After the incident, Naki escapes the authorities and reveals her true Subterranean form, swearing revenge against Momo.
Much later, she reunites with several Kitou relatives and again pursues Momo. Their revenge campaign temporarily gives way to cooperation against the Typhoon Human before Naki immediately attempts another betrayal once the larger threat is defeated.
