Jane is intelligent, energetic and extremely confident in subjects she understands. Counterfeiting is not merely a criminal job to her; she takes professional pride in reproducing currency accurately and becomes frustrated when employers demand speed at the expense of quality.

Outside her specialty, she can be excitable and accident-prone. Her flight through Roanapur repeatedly puts her in situations that contrast sharply with the technical competence she displays when working with currency or computers.

Jane is also openly affectionate and sexually uninhibited. Her attraction to Benny develops quickly after seeing his hacking ability, and she makes little effort to disguise her interest in him.

Jane is an expert counterfeiter with detailed knowledge of U.S. currency, including printing techniques and anti-counterfeiting features. She coordinates specialists distributed across different countries through the internet, allowing the group to combine several areas of expertise without working in one physical location.

She is also an accomplished hacker. Her computer skills complement Benny's, and her later appearances establish connections to a wider online hacking community rather than limiting her expertise to currency production.

Jane is not a capable combatant by Roanapur standards. When armed bounty hunters pursue her, survival depends primarily on running, improvisation and assistance from experienced fighters rather than defeating her pursuers herself.

Jane arrives in Roanapur after being employed to create high-quality counterfeit dollars. Her insistence that the work requires more time causes her criminal employers to turn against her, forcing her to seek assistance from Eda at the Rip-Off Church.

A substantial bounty attracts mercenaries including Shenhua, Frederica Sawyer and Lotton. Jane's escape becomes a running battle through Roanapur in which Revy and Eda protect her while Benny works from the Lagoon Company's side of the operation.

Jane survives the bounty hunt and begins a long-distance relationship with Benny. Later manga material brings her back into the story as a member of the Highwaymen Forum, where her hacking expertise becomes relevant to Feng Yifei's situation and the Rainbach AG operation.

Eda is one of the first people Jane approaches for help when her counterfeiting employers turn against her. Eda ultimately participates in defending Janet Bhai against the bounty hunters pursuing her.

Revy becomes one of Jane's principal protectors during the escape. Revy has little patience for Jane's personality but uses her considerable fighting ability to keep the pursuing mercenaries away from her.

Shenhua, Frederica Sawyer and Lotton are among the bounty hunters pursuing Jane. Their involvement turns her escape into one of Roanapur's largest freelance manhunts.
