Gokumonki receives little characterization in the manga because his defeat occurs before he can properly introduce himself. The anime depicts him as brutal, opportunistic and willing to abandon any idea of a fair fight when confronted by stronger opponents.
His decision to seize Botan shows that intimidation and leverage matter more to him than proving his strength. He expects Yusuke and Kuwabara to hesitate while an innocent person is in danger, giving him an advantage his fighting ability alone cannot provide.

Gokumonki possesses considerable physical strength and carries an enormous club studded with iron spikes. His size and weapon suggest a straightforward close-range fighting style built around raw force.
He is one of the three demons selected for the Triad, indicating that the Toguro Brothers considered him useful enough to serve among the Apparition Gang's elite operatives. Unlike Inmaki and Miyuki, however, he is not shown using an elaborate supernatural technique.
In the anime, he is durable enough to remain a threat until Yusuke and Kuwabara can attack without endangering Botan.

Gokumonki appears during the mission to rescue Yukina from Tarukane's estate. He is the last of the three Triad members placed between Yusuke's group and the deeper parts of the compound.
In the manga, Yusuke and Kuwabara defeat him together so quickly that he never completes his introduction. The anime expands the confrontation by having Gokumonki capture Botan and hold her in front of himself to prevent them from attacking.
Botan escapes his grip by slipping out of the jacket he is holding. The opening allows Yusuke and Kuwabara to strike Gokumonki simultaneously and defeat him.
