Morihito Otogi descends from a line of ogre familiars and possesses extraordinary strength. When his childhood friend, the newly trained witch Nico Wakatsuki, returns home, Morihito is assigned to live with her and protect her from a foretold disaster—while the lovestruck Nico hopes their new arrangement might lead to romance.

Quick Facts

Nico Wakatsuki returns from witch training and moves into the Otogi residence, where Morihito Otogi becomes her familiar and bodyguard. Although Nico eagerly demonstrates her spells, their unpredictable side effects repeatedly force Morihito to intervene. He also learns that a prophecy predicts a serious threat to Nico within the coming year.

The pair begin attending high school together, where Nico quickly reveals her magical abilities despite Morihito's warnings. She befriends classmates and tries to use magic to help those around her, bringing both students into a succession of supernatural mishaps. A new message from Nico's mother eventually warns that dogs and raindrops will herald the approaching disaster.
