The struggle against the warlock targeting Nico exposes a wider conspiracy and forces the group to confront the truth about Keigo. His role as the enemy's werewolf familiar is inseparable from a painful past, and defeating the warlock could carry fatal consequences for him.
Quick Facts
Morihito battles Wolf while Nico, Kanshi and Nemu resist the warlock's controlled fighters and search for a way to break her magic. The group learns that Keigo accepted the familiar contract after an injury destroyed his prospects as a competitive figure skater. Because his life has become magically linked to the warlock's, simply defeating her could also kill him.
Nico and the others therefore seek a resolution that will free Keigo without sacrificing him. Their combined efforts sever the magical bond and bring the immediate crisis to an end, allowing Keigo to begin rebuilding his relationships. The volume then returns to school comedy and romantic misunderstandings as Nico's attempts to grow closer to Morihito collide with his seriousness, emotional restraint and the unpredictable effects of her spells.
