Kakashi analyzes the Deva Path’s gravitational abilities while fighting alongside Chōza and Chōji Akimichi. Although their strategy damages the Asura Path, the Deva Path defeats Kakashi. With his remaining chakra, Kakashi protects Chōji and ensures that information about Pain reaches Tsunade.

Across Konoha, shinobi battle Pain’s summons and interrogators. Konohamaru defeats the Naraka Path with a Rasengan, while Inoichi and the village’s intelligence division study one of Pain’s captured bodies. Pain eventually reads Shizune’s mind and learns that Naruto is at Mount Myōboku.

After gathering the Six Paths above Konoha, Pain destroys most of the village with an enormous Almighty Push. Tsunade protects the inhabitants through Katsuyu but exhausts herself. Naruto then arrives with Fukasaku, Gamabunta, and the other toads, destroying several Paths with Sage Mode and an improved Rasenshuriken.
