Suzaku

Suzaku is serious, courteous and highly disciplined. He lacks the casual sadism displayed by some Diabolos members and makes clear that slaughtering innocent people is not his way. Even when ordered to kill a Dragon God and anyone obstructing him, he approaches his task as a warrior carrying out a mission rather than as an excuse for indiscriminate violence.

He respects strength and can acknowledge the skill of an enemy without allowing pride to prevent cooperation when circumstances require it. His formal manner and devotion to swordsmanship distinguish him sharply from more impulsive Dragon Eaters such as Kiria.

Suzaku uses Sword Saint Dragon Slayer Magic, a Fifth Generation form derived from the dragon Kurnugi. His fighting style channels Dragon Slayer power through a katana and emphasizes extreme speed, precision and devastating sword-drawing techniques.

His Kurnugi-Style Sword-Drawing Art allows him to attack with such speed that powerful opponents may be struck before they can properly react. Suzaku possesses the enormous magical power expected of the Dark Dragon Slayer Knights, who are presented as Diabolos' strongest combatants.

Suzaku is introduced among the elite Dragon Eaters assembled as Diabolos turns its attention toward the Moon Dragon God. He subsequently finds himself in Elentear, where he encounters Touka and Faris near the ruined Whiteout Village and explicitly denies responsibility for the slaughter there.

His hunt leads directly to Selene and Team Natsu. Suzaku demonstrates his exceptional strength by defeating Erza with remarkable speed and later overpowering Natsu during their first serious confrontation. These victories establish the Dark Dragon Slayer Knights as a level of threat substantially above Diabolos' earlier hunting teams.

Suzaku later cooperates with Natsu inside the Great Labyrinth of Dogra when the emergence of Dogramag gives Fairy Tail and Diabolos a common enemy. Their transition from opponents to temporary partners develops into genuine mutual respect.

Georg Reizen is the Guild Master who recruits Suzaku into Diabolos. Georg kills Kurnugi, allowing Suzaku to consume the dragon's flesh and acquire Sword Saint Dragon Slayer Magic.

Kurnugi is the dragon from whom Suzaku derives his power. Suzaku names his sword-drawing style after him, preserving a direct connection between the dragon he consumed and the techniques he uses.

Selene is Kurnugi's mother and the Dragon God Suzaku is initially assigned to hunt. The discovery of Kurnugi's identity gives their confrontation a deeply personal dimension, although Selene's later relationship with Diabolos becomes more complicated than simple vengeance.

Natsu Dragneel begins as one of Suzaku's opponents. After fighting each other seriously, the two eventually cooperate against Dogramag and develop respect for one another's determination and combat ability.

Erza Scarlet encounters Suzaku as an enemy during the Elentear conflict. His ability to cut her down with extraordinary speed provides one of the earliest demonstrations of how dangerous the Dark Dragon Slayer Knights are.

Kirin, Misaki and Haku are Suzaku's fellow Dark Dragon Slayer Knights, collectively representing Diabolos' elite fighting force.
