Selene

Selene is mischievous, manipulative and fond of luxury. She enjoys hot springs, alcohol, entertainment and moonlit evenings, and her initial behavior suggests that avoiding boredom matters more to her than the damage her games cause. She readily manipulates other people into acting for her while withholding the real purpose behind their actions.

She nevertheless differs from dragons who simply despise humanity. Selene has developed a genuine attachment to human culture and prefers living in human form. Her deeper objective is not the destruction of humanity but the elimination of the remaining Dragon Gods so that she can live quietly as a human without the threat of another age dominated by dragons.

Selene's Moon Dragon Slayer Magic grants power associated with the moon and stars on a scale befitting one of the Five Dragon Gods. Her immense magical presence can affect an entire world's magical balance, and she possesses the physical strength and durability expected of a dragon whose power is compared with Acnologia's.

Her defining specialty is dimensional travel. Selene can use Spatial Magic, including Aqua Aera, to move between different worlds and relocate other people across enormous distances or dimensional boundaries. This ability underlies her reputation as a dragon who crosses worlds.

She can transform freely between human and dragon forms and use telepathy. Her dragon form is distinguished by crescent-shaped horns, pale coloration and multiple tail-like appendages.

Selene operates behind several early events of the 100 Years Quest before Team Natsu confronts her directly. She coerces Faris by threatening Elentear and manipulates her into awakening Aldoron, treating the resulting upheaval in Earth-land as entertainment while pursuing information and weapons capable of killing Dragon Gods.

The Moon Dragon God arc brings Team Natsu through Edolas and into Elentear, where Selene becomes the central threat. Her dimensional abilities make the conflict fundamentally different from the earlier Dragon God hunts.

Selene's position changes substantially after her conflicts with Fairy Tail and Diabolos. She takes control of Diabolos and eventually cooperates with former enemies because their interests overlap: she wants the age of dragons brought to an end rather than humanity destroyed.

Kurnugi is Selene's son. His death at the hands of Georg Reizen and the consumption of his flesh by Suzaku connect Selene personally to Diabolos long before she takes control of the guild.

Suzaku acquired his Dragon Slayer power from Selene's son. Their relationship begins through this violent history, but Selene later treats Suzaku and the other Dragon Slayers pragmatically rather than pursuing simple revenge.

Faris is manipulated by Selene through threats against Elentear. Selene uses Faris to interfere with Earth-land, including engineering Aldoron's awakening.

Ignia is one of Selene's fellow Dragon Gods and a major obstacle to her desired future. Their incompatible objectives eventually bring them into direct conflict.

Georg Reizen is responsible for killing Kurnugi. Selene's later confrontation with the Diabolos Guild Master therefore carries a direct personal connection to her family.

Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster and Wendy Marvell begin as enemies pursuing her under the 100 Years Quest, but their relationship becomes more cooperative once Selene's actual objective is understood.
