Touka

Touka is friendly, energetic and romantic. She eagerly attempts to become part of Fairy Tail and speaks enthusiastically about the person she believes rescued her, leading Juvia Lockser to treat her as something of a romantic rival when Touka declares her feelings for "Natsu."

Her behavior is sincere rather than manipulative. Touka's memories of being rescued are genuine, but her interpretation of what happened contains an important misunderstanding. She also demonstrates courage when circumstances force her to confront dangers involving her home world and the people around her.

Touka uses Aqua Aera, a water-based form of Spatial Magic. It allows its user to create Gates through water and transport herself and selected others across distances or even between dimensions. A water medium is required for the technique to function.

The dimensional range of Aqua Aera is especially significant because Touka originates in Elentear rather than Earth-land. Faris learns Aqua Aera through her prolonged possession of Touka, allowing the same magic to become central to travel between Earth-land, Edolas and Elentear.

Touka appears to be one of Fairy Tail's newest recruits while Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster and Wendy Marvell are in Guiltina.

The person initially presented through Touka's body is actually Faris, an Elentear shrine maiden who has possessed her and is operating as the White Wizard. The real Touka is an Exceed rather than the human-looking woman the guild initially encounters. This distinction becomes central to the wider conflict surrounding the White Wizard and eventually Elentear.

Touka's supposed love for Natsu is also based on a misunderstanding. Happy was actually the figure she fell for when he and Natsu rescued her from bandits; because Happy was carrying Natsu and she misunderstood his name, she spent years believing her rescuer was "Natsu."

Happy is the person Touka actually fell in love with after he and Natsu rescued her. Her misunderstanding of the rescue causes her to spend years believing Happy's name is Natsu.

Natsu Dragneel is consequently the apparent object of Touka's affection when she first joins Fairy Tail, although her romantic fixation is based on confusing him with Happy.

Faris has the most complicated connection to Touka. Faris possesses Touka's body and uses her as a vessel while carrying out her mission as the White Wizard, eventually gaining access to Touka's Aqua Aera through their connection.

Juvia Lockser immediately recognizes similarities between Touka's apparent devotion to Natsu and her own feelings for Gray, creating comic tension between them.

Gray Fullbuster, Lucy Heartfilia, Erza Scarlet, Wendy Marvell and the other Fairy Tail members become Touka's allies as the truth surrounding her situation emerges.
