Monegold

Monegold is authoritative, practical and highly conscious of the administrative responsibilities attached to running the Mantinel Witches Association. While other elite witches can focus on individual Majik hunts, she must consider public safety, organizational procedure and the political consequences of their actions.

Desscaras is a frequent source of frustration. Monegold understands her extraordinary ability but does not allow that reputation to exempt her from reports, explanations or disciplinary consequences when her behavior creates problems.

Monegold also has a more exhausted and informal side around her secretary. The sheer volume of work generated by the Association can overwhelm even her composure, particularly when unprecedented incidents create additional paperwork.

Monegold is a titled witch known as the Aureate Witch, but the manga has not fully established the Majiks or combat techniques behind that title. Her demonstrated strengths are primarily strategic and institutional.

She commands Mantinel operations and coordinated the large-scale attempt to acquire Uroro on Druid Mountain. She can communicate remotely through magical mirrors and issue orders binding Association personnel.

Her authority is substantial enough that when she prohibits witches from approaching Ichi without written permission, Association members comply. This control becomes essential when curiosity about the first male witch threatens to overwhelm normal operations.

Monegold appears from the opening operation against Uroro, coordinating the witches surrounding Druid Mountain and warning Desscaras against confronting the King Majik without sufficient support.

Ichi's acquisition of Uroro immediately creates a crisis for her organization. Monegold demands a full report, restricts access to Ichi and permits Shirabedonna to investigate him. Once Shirabedonna concludes that Ichi can be trusted, the Association begins integrating him into its operations.

Monegold continues functioning as the administrative center of Mantinel as threats grow beyond ordinary Majik hunts. Her responsibilities later include negotiations and strategic disputes over how the Association should respond to the World-Hater and other forces seeking to influence or control Ichi.

Desscaras is one of Monegold's most powerful witches and one of her greatest administrative headaches. Monegold trusts her ability while frequently reprimanding her disregard for procedure.

Circos is Monegold's personal secretary and closest day-to-day assistant. Their interactions reveal a considerably more relaxed side of Monegold than she displays while commanding the Association.

Ichi's arrival creates an unprecedented institutional problem for Monegold. She initially regulates access to him while determining whether he can safely become part of Mantinel.

Shirabedonna receives Monegold's authorization to examine Ichi, and Monegold places substantial trust in the Analytic Witch's conclusions.

Chikutoge Togeice is highly regarded by Monegold for her discipline and dedication to the Association.
