Momo Nishimiya

Momo is outspoken, protective, socially perceptive, and more cynical about gender expectations than her small, whimsical appearance initially suggests. She understands the standards applied to female sorcerers as both combatants and women and resents how easily failure in either category can be used against them.

Her strongest example is Mai Zenin. Momo understands how the Zenin clan's treatment of women and obsession with inherited techniques shaped Mai's resentment, and she becomes angry when outsiders dismiss Mai's behavior without considering that background.

This perspective brings Momo into direct ideological conflict with Nobara Kugisaki. Nobara refuses to let sexism dictate how she evaluates another woman, arguing that she can admire Maki and dislike Mai entirely on their individual merits.

Momo is also practical and team-oriented. Her technique naturally places her above the battlefield, and she frequently prioritizes reconnaissance, communication, and transportation over personal glory.

Tool Manipulation allows Momo to telekinetically control her broom. She can ride it through the air at considerable speed and maneuver freely enough to function as a reconnaissance specialist.

Flight gives Momo an unusually broad battlefield view. She can locate enemies, monitor teammates, relay information, transport herself between engagements, and avoid many ground-based attacks.

Wind Scythe uses the broom to generate cutting gusts capable of attacking opponents from range. The technique lets Momo pressure targets without sacrificing the aerial distance that provides most of her defensive advantage.

Her combat ability is therefore more useful in coordinated group operations than in direct close-range exchanges. Opponents who can close the distance or attack from range can neutralize the safety ordinarily provided by flight.

Momo participates in the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons in Kyoto before appearing more prominently during the following year's Goodwill Event.

As a Kyoto third-year, she joins the plan to eliminate Yuuji but spends much of the event gathering information from the air rather than joining the initial group confrontation.

She eventually fights Nobara, and their battle becomes a debate over the expectations imposed on women within jujutsu society. Momo explains Mai's position within the Zenin clan, while Nobara rejects the premise that hardship requires her to excuse someone she simply dislikes.

The fight ends when Mai Zenin intervenes from long range, though the arrival of Hanami soon turns the student competition into a genuine emergency.

Momo later joins Kyoto's reinforcements during the Shibuya Incident and contributes to the confrontation with Kenjaku.

Following the upheavals after Shibuya, she continues assisting surviving sorcerers while coping with the losses suffered by Kyoto's students, particularly Mai and Kokichi.

Mai Zenin is one of Momo's closest friends. Momo strongly sympathizes with Mai's treatment by the Zenin clan and defends her against criticism.

Kasumi Miwa is another close Kyoto classmate whom Momo cares about deeply.

Nobara Kugisaki becomes Momo's Goodwill Event opponent and ideological counterpart during their argument over expectations placed on female sorcerers.

Aoi Toudou is Momo's classmate and, according to her official profile, one of her greatest sources of stress.

Noritoshi Kamo is another third-year classmate with whom Momo participates in Kyoto's coordinated missions.

Kokichi Muta belongs to the same Kyoto student group, and his loss deeply affects his surviving classmates.

Yoshinobu Gakuganji is Momo's principal and one of the authorities directing the Kyoto students.
