M2

M2 is a devoted student whose normal values are rooted in Mitamura's humane martial-arts philosophy. He and his companions are trained to value life rather than treating strength as permission to kill.

His actions as a member of Team Ichigaki therefore do not represent his genuine personality. Ichigaki's biological control device forces his body to obey commands while his consciousness remains trapped and horrified by what he is doing.

His willingness to become an experimental subject in the first place comes from loyalty to his teacher rather than ambition.

M2 is an accomplished martial artist before Ichigaki's intervention and becomes considerably stronger after being altered.

He fights using a staff and combines weapon technique with enhanced physical capabilities. His attacks are fast and forceful enough to threaten Team Urameshi during the three-on-three battle.

M2's greatest tactical advantage comes from cooperation with M1 and M3. Years of shared training allow the three to coordinate attacks with exceptional precision.

M2 and his fellow students are devastated when Mitamura becomes seriously ill and the cost of treatment is beyond their means. Ichigaki offers to treat him in exchange for their participation in experiments.

Rather than merely experimenting on them, Ichigaki places the students under direct biological control and forces them to fight in the Dark Tournament. Their trapped spirits communicate their history to Kuwabara, who becomes unwilling to kill them despite the danger they pose.

Genkai eventually destroys the controlling organisms without killing the students. M2 regains his freedom and reunites with Mitamura after Kurama ensures that their teacher receives treatment.

Mitamura is M2's martial-arts teacher and the person he sacrifices his freedom to save.

Dr. Ichigaki exploits M2 and transforms him into an unwilling tournament fighter.

M1 and M3 are M2's fellow students and closest teammates.

Kazuma Kuwabara learns the truth about the three controlled fighters and refuses to kill them.

Genkai uses her spiritual abilities to remove Ichigaki's control.

Kurama helps Mitamura receive treatment, fulfilling the goal that originally led M2 and his companions to Ichigaki.

Yusuke Urameshi fights M2 during the tournament and later receives his support.
