Guttman Kubrick

Guttman is cheerful, arrogant, fanatical, and sadistic. He treats the established Legion Corps members as inexperienced children and believes that obedience to Zentopia doctrine matters more than friendship or personal judgment.

He punishes doubt immediately. When Mary Hughes protests the destruction of a church and killing of a priest, Guttman attacks her with the same magic he uses against enemies.

He also takes obvious pleasure in Rupture Magic's painful effects, particularly when fighting opponents with large magical reserves.

Rupture Magic manipulates the Magic Power already contained inside a target. Guttman swells that energy until it erupts painfully within the victim's body, then repeats the process until their available reserves are depleted.

This makes powerful mages especially attractive targets because the strength they normally rely upon becomes material Guttman can weaponize against them.

He also possesses Telepathy and deceptively high physical strength, casually kicking multiple people across a large room despite his short, blocky limbs.

Lapointe orders Guttman's release from Zentopia's Forbidden Cell and inserts him into the Legion Corps.

Guttman is paired with Mary and later attacks her after she objects to their increasingly questionable mission. Gajeel Redfox and Juvia Lockser witness the confrontation and engage him. Their combined Iron Dragon Slayer and Water abilities eventually overcome Rupture Magic.

Guttman later confronts Natsu Dragneel and Coco inside Zentopia, delighted by the enormous Magic Power both possess.

Mary intervenes, and the two former partners fight until they learn that the authority they have been serving is fraudulent. Guttman loses his reason to continue battling and later helps destroy the Infinity Clock's chains as an act of atonement.

Mary Hughes is Guttman's assigned partner and the Legionnaire he most frequently belittles. Their relationship turns openly hostile when he punishes her for questioning orders.

Lapointe secures Guttman's release and deploys him as a weapon of Zentopia.

Gajeel Redfox and Juvia Lockser defeat Guttman after seeing him attack Mary.

Natsu Dragneel attracts Guttman's attention because of his enormous magical reserves.

Coco becomes another target after rejecting Zentopia's actions.

Byro Cracy is the established Legion Corps leader, although Guttman's special deployment comes directly through higher Church authority.
