Carne is tough, loud and intensely loyal to the Baratie. Like Patty, he combines professional cooking with the manners of a former street fighter.

He is quick to confront anyone threatening the restaurant but also participates in its policy of feeding the hungry. His hostility toward the Krieg Pirates follows their betrayal, not their initial request for food.

Carne’s friendship with Patty shapes most of his appearances. They operate as a pair, sharing both culinary duties and confidence in their ability to defend the ship.

Carne is a professional cook capable of working in the Baratie’s demanding kitchen. Later material places him aboard a specialized teppanyaki ship, suggesting expertise in grill-based cooking.

He fights with oversized kitchen implements and bladed weapons. His physical strength and experience make him more capable than an ordinary civilian, though Pearl defeats him and Patty during the Krieg Pirates’ assault.

Carne can assist with the Baratie’s maritime defenses and works effectively with Patty. Neither Devil Fruit powers nor Haki have been established for him.

His enduring role after the restaurant’s expansion demonstrates operational competence beyond the original dining room, including cooking aboard a separate vessel.

Carne appears during the Baratie arc as one of its most prominent cooks. He joins the staff’s efforts to manage violent customers and defend the restaurant from pirate attacks.

When Don Krieg’s starving crew reaches the Baratie, Carne helps provide food under Zeff’s orders. The pirates regain their strength and immediately attempt to seize the restaurant.

Carne and Patty lead part of the cooks’ resistance but are overwhelmed by Pearl. The wider battle is ultimately decided by Luffy’s defeat of Krieg and Gin’s refusal to continue attacking Sanji.

Carne later remains with the Baratie as it expands into several connected vessels. He takes charge of the Nasugasira teppanyaki ship while continuing to follow reports of Sanji’s career.

Patty is Carne’s closest friend, coworker and combat partner. They applied to the Baratie together and regularly act as a pair.

Zeff is Carne’s head chef and employer. Carne defends Zeff’s restaurant and later receives responsibility aboard one of its expansion vessels.

Sanji is Carne’s former colleague. Carne joins the cooks in driving Sanji toward his dream by disguising affection as criticism.

Don Krieg attacks the Baratie after accepting its food. Pearl defeats Carne and Patty during the defense.
