Zara

Zara is calm, self-assured, and rarely disturbed by the behavior of other agents. She shows greater emotional control than many Baroque Works operatives and intervenes when disputes threaten to interfere with their assignment.

She takes pride in her appearance and incorporates exaggerated movement into her fighting style. Her confidence in the Spike-Spike Fruit makes her initially dismissive of Nami, whom she does not regard as a serious combatant.

Her life as Paula appears to reflect a genuine preference rather than merely an infiltration role. After Baroque Works falls, she chooses the work and identity associated with the cafe over returning to assassination.

Zara ate the Toge Toge no Mi, a Paramecia-class Devil Fruit that lets her create sharp spikes from any part of her body. She can extend spikes from her fingers, arms, chest, shoulders, or feet and retract them without injury.

By producing spikes from the soles of her feet, she can puncture surfaces or improve the force of her steps. She can also use spikes to alter her body’s silhouette and concentrate power into piercing attacks.

Some techniques manipulate her muscles through acupuncture-like pressure from her own spikes, increasing the size and force of an attack. She is an experienced close-range fighter, but the fruit does not protect her from weather effects or electricity.

Zara gathers with the other Officer Agents at the Spiders Cafe before receiving instructions for Operation Utopia. Her identity as the cafe’s proprietor, Paula, initially conceals her position as Miss Doublefinger.

In Alubarna, Zara encounters Nami and expects an easy victory. Nami’s prototype Clima-Tact initially produces several ineffective party tricks because Usopp designed it partly for entertainment.

Nami eventually discovers how its Heat, Cool, and Thunder Balls interact to manipulate the air. She creates a mirage, forms a storm cloud, and defeats Zara with a lightning strike followed by Tornado Tempo. After being captured by the Marines, Zara is freed during Marianne’s cover-story operation and resumes running the new Spiders Cafe as Paula.

Bones Daz is Zara’s assigned Baroque Works partner. Zara and Bones Daz share a controlled, professional manner and complementary blade-and-spike abilities.

Crocodile employs Zara as an Officer Agent. Nico Robin, acting as Miss All Sunday, occupies the vice-presidential position above her.

Nami defeats Zara in Alubarna by learning to use the Clima-Tact during their fight. Usopp created the weapon that gives Nami the means to overcome Zara’s Devil Fruit.

Bentham clashes with Bones Daz at the Spiders Cafe until Zara separates them. Marianne later helps free Zara from Marine custody.
