Bones Daz

Daz is stoic, disciplined, and emotionally reserved. He approaches assassination as a profession and prefers efficient action to theatrical displays or personal conversation.

He initially dismisses friendship as an unnecessary weakness, maintaining a strictly professional partnership with Zala. His loyalty to Crocodile, however, exceeds ordinary employment and survives imprisonment, defeat, and the destruction of their organization.

Daz has a private idealistic streak that contrasts with his occupation. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a superhero, though his adult life led him into bounty hunting and organized crime.

Daz ate the Supa Supa no Mi, a Paramecia-class Devil Fruit that allows him to turn any part of his body into steel blades. His transformed skin becomes extremely hard, providing protection against ordinary cutting attacks and blunt impacts.

He integrates the fruit into close-quarters martial arts rather than using a separate sword. His arms become chopping blades, his fingers form claws, and blades on his feet let him glide across surfaces. He can create rotating edges and launch slashing attacks through rapid movement.

Daz also possesses exceptional physical strength, endurance, and assassination experience. At Alubarna, Zoro cannot defeat him until learning to cut steel. Later battles show Daz surviving the hazards of Impel Down and fighting experienced New World pirates.

Daz and Zala, known as Miss Doublefinger, participate in Operation Utopia as Baroque Works’ highest-ranked agent pair below Crocodile and Nico Robin. In Alubarna, Daz targets Nami before Roronoa Zoro intercepts him.

Their battle drives Zoro close to death. By sensing the rhythm or “breath” of surrounding objects, Zoro learns to cut steel and defeats Daz with a single decisive strike.

Daz is later imprisoned in Impel Down and refuses to escape without Crocodile. He accompanies his former leader through the Marineford war and into the New World, eventually joining him in Cross Guild.

Crocodile is Daz’s employer and the leader to whom he remains fiercely loyal. Daz follows Crocodile out of Impel Down, fights on his behalf at Marineford, and later joins his new organization.

Zala is Daz’s Baroque Works partner. Their relationship is controlled and professional, reflecting the sharp-edged abilities and efficient temperaments they share.

Roronoa Zoro defeats Daz in Alubarna after learning to cut steel. Daz recognizes Roronoa Zoro’s growth and later asks whether he intends to become a god after achieving his goal.

Bentham frequently clashes with Daz because their personalities are sharply opposed. Dracule Mihawk cuts Daz down at Marineford after he intercepts an attack meant for Monkey D. Luffy.
