Yabumi Juunichou

Juunichou is composed, literate and fond of framing situations through quotations from books she has read. Because she remembers texts precisely, those quotations are readily available regardless of the situation.

She also has a dry, somewhat sadistic sense of humor. During the succession trials, she is willing to tease participants even when they are already in embarrassing circumstances.

Juunichou handles defeat gracefully. When opponents outthink her, she is capable of acknowledging the result instead of reacting with resentment. She is also familiar with the habits and abilities of Hakoniwa's other committee chairmen.

Juunichou possesses perfect memory. Once she reads, hears or sees information, she can retain it permanently and recall it without the ordinary delay associated with searching one's memory.

She can memorize entire books down to their wording, giving rise to the nickname "Mobile Library." Her memory effectively turns everything she has experienced or studied into an immediately accessible reference collection.

The ability is not primarily combative. Its strength lies in information, deduction and the enormous range of knowledge Juunichou can accumulate without forgetting earlier material.

Juunichou becomes prominent during the trials intended to find potential successors for Medaka. As Library Committee chairwoman, she administers a challenge built around books, memory and information rather than physical combat.

Her trial demonstrates that the committee chairmen test qualities beyond strength. Candidates must understand how information can be used rather than merely attempting to match her impossible memory.

Juunichou later participates in Medaka's 100 Flowers Run. Ten years afterward, she works as a librarian at the Library of Congress.

Hamaya Hyakuchou is Juunichou's cousin.

Kiruko Tachiarai is a fellow committee leader whose methods Juunichou understands well enough to anticipate.

Aoki Aka is another committee chairwoman with whom Juunichou is familiar.

Medaka Kurokami organizes the succession process in which Juunichou participates as one of Hakoniwa Academy's committee chairmen.
