Tsukiko Mado

Mado is stern, observant, cautious, and accustomed to making decisions whose consequences may not become clear for years. Her foresight has taught her that knowing a possible future does not necessarily reveal the correct way to prevent it.

She treats prophecy more cautiously than Sora eventually did. Rather than assuming every vision is unavoidable, Mado gathers information and attempts to judge which actions are most likely to protect Yamato.

Her severe public manner hides a quieter side. She maintains ordinary interests such as tending vegetables and can speak patiently with younger Keepers when circumstances allow.

As the Nightmare Choujin, Mado receives visions of possible future events through dreams. These nightmares can reveal distant catastrophes, individual actions and outcomes that have not yet occurred.

The visions are possibilities rather than simple instructions. Their interpretation requires judgment because attempting to prevent a prophecy can itself influence how events unfold.

Mado also possesses Raise as a Choujin, although her importance to Yamato Mori rests primarily on foresight and leadership rather than frontline combat.

Mado enters Yamato Mori at seven years old after Sora recognizes her unusual potential. Sora teaches the frightened child to record her nightmares, giving Mado a framework for understanding her prophetic ability.

She eventually rises to direct the organization founded by her mentor. Their relationship fractures after Mado foresees the devastation connected to Sora's campaign against Antoland and comes to distrust Sora's increasingly absolute faith in prophecy.

In the present, Mado's visions influence Yamato Mori's response to the coming calamity. Her decisions are shaped by the possibility that Yamato will be destroyed and by uncertainty over whether Sora's proposed Beast of Prophecy will prevent that future or help cause it.

Sora Siruha is Mado's former mentor. Sora brings Tsukiko Mado into Yamato Mori as a child and teaches her to understand her nightmares. Their bond eventually collapses when their visions and interpretations of the future place them on opposing paths.

Hoshi Sandek serves directly beneath Mado in Yamato Mori's leadership and carries out major operational responsibilities.

Ichirou Satou is another senior Yamato Mori figure whose strategic work supports Mado's direction of the organization.

Tokio Kurohara eventually discusses prophecy and Sora directly with Mado, receiving insight into the history behind Yamato Mori's present conflict.

Antitise becomes central to the disagreement between Mado and Sora. Mado's vision of Sora's actions in Antoland helps convince her that her mentor's attempt to prevent catastrophe may itself create one.
