Toto Sakigami

Toto is eccentric, playful and remarkably casual about violence. He can approach strangers cheerfully despite having a reputation that makes other Deadmen wary of him.

He is also a loner. The person to whom he forms his strongest attachment is Mitsuzaki Yosuga, whom he begins calling his older sister despite their lack of a biological relationship.

Much of the Toto encountered during the central portion of the story is actually Hagire controlling his body. This makes it important to distinguish Toto's original personality from the colder and more manipulative behavior displayed after the transfer.

Love Labyrinth allows Toto to copy another Deadman's Branch of Sin after tasting that person's blood. Rather than simply imitating the appearance of an attack, he can reproduce the copied ability for his own use.

This gives Toto extraordinary versatility. His undefeated Carnival Corpse record demonstrates that he was already an exceptionally capable combatant before the later events surrounding his body.

After Hagire takes control of Toto, Love Labyrinth is used to collect numerous Branches of Sin. Hagire can switch between these copied abilities and combine their advantages, making Toto's body one of the most dangerous weapons in the prison.

Toto is introduced as the mysterious Mockingbird, the strongest Deadman known within G Ward and the only person said to have confronted the Wretched Egg and survived.

His strange behavior around Ganta and Senji initially leaves his motives unclear. His relationship with Yosuga provides glimpses of a much more personal side to his life inside the prison.

It is eventually revealed that Hagire has overwritten Toto's consciousness and has been operating through his body. The apparent Mockingbird participating in many later events is therefore Hagire rather than Toto himself.

After Hagire is defeated, Toto briefly regains control of his body and recognizes that Yosuga had become his reason to continue living.

Mitsuzaki Yosuga is the person Toto chooses as his older sister and his closest emotional connection inside Deadman Wonderland.

Kiyomasa Senji knows Toto's reputation and regards him as an exceptionally dangerous Deadman.

Ganta Igarashi encounters Toto during his time in G Ward. Ganta later fights Hagire while Hagire is occupying Toto's body.

Shiro is connected to Toto through his encounter with the Wretched Egg.

Rinichirou Hagire uses Toto as a replacement body, suppressing his consciousness and exploiting Love Labyrinth for his own research.
