Personality
Personality
Shiro receives little individual characterization separate from the rest of Hedoro's family. He participates in the family visit without displaying the aggression that the Yorozuya instinctively expect from a group of enormous Dakini.
That contrast drives much of the comedy surrounding him. Shiro and his relatives are behaving like ordinary bathhouse customers, while the humans around them interpret their immense bodies and intimidating presence as signs of imminent danger.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
As a member of the Dakini Tribe, Shiro belongs to a species renowned for exceptional physical strength and imposing physiques. The bathhouse story visually establishes the tremendous size and power of Hedoro's male relatives even though Shiro is not given an individual combat showcase.
No named technique, weapon or personal supernatural ability is established for Shiro. His appearance is too limited to justify attributing any of Hedoro's unique abilities to him.
Story Role
Story Role
Shiro comes to Earth with his family to visit Hedoro. The visiting group includes his brothers Jiro, Saburo and Goro, their father and Goro's young son.
The family visits an Edo public bath while Sakata Gintoki, Kagura, Shimura Shinpachi and several acquaintances are present. The humans' attempts to avoid offending the enormous Dakini create the central tension and comedy of the encounter.
Shiro's function within the episode is therefore collective rather than individual: he helps establish the startling scale of Hedoro's family and the contrast between their frightening appearance and the mundane purpose of their visit.
Relationships
Relationships
Hedoro is Shiro's brother and the reason the family travels to Edo. Hedoro has established a life on Earth as a florist by the time his relatives visit.
Jiro, Saburo and Goro are Shiro's brothers and accompany him during the visit.
Hedoro's Father is Shiro's father and travels with his sons to the bathhouse.
Goro's Son is Shiro's nephew and the youngest member of the family shown accompanying the group.
