Takeru Noto

Takeru is polite, shy and easily frightened. His comrades summarize the contradiction in his character as having an enormous body but a small spirit. He dislikes conflict despite having an Ignition Ability designed for overwhelming destruction.

Praise can make him uncomfortable because he lacks confidence in himself as a fighter. Rekka Hoshimiya's enthusiastic encouragement during training helps push him toward acknowledging his potential.

Takeru becomes markedly more determined when someone else is threatened. His fear does not disappear, but concern for his companions can outweigh it, allowing him to fight opponents he would otherwise desperately want to avoid.

Takeru is a Third Generation pyrokinetic whose Ignition Ability produces massive missile-shaped flames. His HSR attacks resemble rockets or artillery shells and possess exceptional destructive force.

His body exhibits a peculiar visual gag in which layers of clothing are destroyed while additional layers seemingly remain underneath. This allows his battles to emphasize the enormous punishment he takes without immediately leaving him exposed.

Despite his reluctance to fight, Takeru has the firepower to confront powerful White-Clad combatants. When properly motivated, he can endure severe injuries and continue attacking with increasingly destructive projectiles.

Takeru first appears at the Rookie Fire Soldier Games alongside other new recruits, including Shinra Kusakabe, Arthur Boyle and Tamaki Kotatsu. He later participates in Company 1's inter-brigade training, where Rekka recognizes his considerable potential.

His largest early role comes during Company 2's expedition into the Nether. Takeru enters the underground complex with his comrades and faces the White-Clad's forces while struggling with his instinct to avoid dangerous fights.

The death of Hajiki and the threat posed to Tamaki force Takeru to overcome his fear during his confrontation with Orochi. He continues fighting despite horrific injuries and ultimately demonstrates the courage hidden beneath his anxious personality.

Takeru remains an active combatant during the later conflict with the White-Clad, using his artillery-like flames alongside fighters from other brigades.

Tamaki Kotatsu is Takeru's most important personal connection outside Company 2. He is attracted to her but becomes painfully shy around her, while danger to Tamaki can provoke some of his strongest displays of courage.

Rekka Hoshimiya trains Takeru and recognizes the enormous potential of his Ignition Ability, encouraging him far more aggressively than Takeru is comfortable with.

Hajiki is Takeru's senior in Company 2 and participates with him in the Nether expedition. Hajiki's death contributes to the emotional pressure surrounding Takeru's later battle.

Gustav Honda commands Takeru as captain of Company 2.

Orochi becomes one of Takeru's most dangerous opponents during the Nether expedition.

Tōru Kishiri later fights alongside Takeru, combining explosive bubble attacks with Takeru's missile-like flames.
