Gustav Honda

Honda is direct, disciplined and physically imposing despite his relatively modest height. His command style reflects Company 2's connection to the military, emphasizing orders, organization and readiness for large-scale operations.

He is nevertheless capable of participating in the Fire Force's lighter traditions. The running fascination among Company 2's recruits with whether Honda became bald before or after developing his flame-producing scalp turns his distinctive appearance into a recurring subject of humor.

As a captain, Honda accepts responsibility for his soldiers and personally participates in dangerous missions rather than directing them entirely from a safe position.

Honda is a Third Generation pyrokinetic who generates high-output flames from his scalp. He uses those flames to propel and reinforce headbutts, turning his already formidable body into a human projectile.

His signature Honda Missile Super Killer Head Ram combines propulsion with the durability of his head, allowing him to crash into targets with tremendous force. The technique suits his straightforward preference for physically overwhelming an opponent.

Honda also possesses the physical conditioning expected of a senior military officer and Fire Force captain. His ability is specialized rather than versatile, but within its intended range it produces exceptional impact.

Honda commands Company 2, whose direct relationship with the Imperial Army distinguishes it from brigades controlled primarily by the Fire Defense Agency, Holy Sol Temple or Haijima Industries.

When Company 2 and Company 8 undertake a joint investigation of the Nether, Honda oversees the military force entering the underground. The operation divides personnel into teams and exposes Company 2 to the White-Clad's preparations beneath Tokyo.

The losses and discoveries during the Nether investigation make Company 2 an increasingly direct participant in the larger conflict rather than a brigade kept apart from the Evangelist investigation.

Honda later joins the wider resistance to the Cataclysm, continuing to fight as the distinctions between individual Fire Force companies become less important than defending the empire itself.

Takeru Noto serves under Honda in Company 2 as one of its Second Class Fire Soldiers.

Amon Hajiki is a company commander under Honda and one of Company 2's highly capable specialists.

Akitaru Ōbi commands Company 8 and cooperates with Honda when their brigades conduct the joint Nether investigation.

Danro Oze is a senior military officer whose authority intersects directly with Company 2 because of the brigade's relationship with the Imperial Army.
