Takeda Hyouma

Takeda is cooperative, gentlemanly and somewhat flirtatious. His immediate interest in Reika is obvious enough that he jealously asks Katou whether he is her boyfriend.

Despite that lighter behavior, Takeda takes the rescue operation seriously. He works alongside hunters from other regions without the territorial competitiveness displayed by earlier Gantz teams.

His concern for civilians affects his decisions in battle. When an alien holds a human in a position that would make firing dangerous, Takeda hesitates rather than treating the hostage as acceptable collateral damage.

Takeda is an experienced Gantz hunter familiar with advanced combat equipment. He uses the Z-Gun, whose attacks generate enormous downward force capable of crushing targets.

He is comfortable fighting the giant aliens and operates effectively alongside other veteran hunters during the mothership rescue.

Takeda also demonstrates restraint with the weapon. When a three-headed creature captures a human, he cannot safely fire the Z-Gun without risking the captive, forcing him to seek another opportunity rather than simply attacking.

Takeda enters during the Katastrophe after Kurono and Reika use their celebrity and Gantz connections to call experienced hunters from across Japan to Tokyo.

He joins the group entering the alien mothership to rescue captured humans. His participation helps turn the surviving regional Gantz players into a coordinated resistance rather than isolated teams.

Takeda remains part of the assembled hunters through the later stages of the invasion, fighting alongside the Tokyo group as the conflict shifts toward its final confrontations.

Reika Shimohira immediately attracts Takeda's attention. His interest is obvious enough that he asks Masaru Katou whether she is his girlfriend.

Masaru Katou becomes one of Takeda's principal comrades during the rescue operation despite the initial jealousy surrounding Reika.

Kei Kurono and Reika Shimohira are responsible for the appeal that draws Takeda from Kanagawa into the larger resistance.

Maeshima Ryuuji, Mary McClane, Makoto Sekine and Kaiji Yoshikawa are among the other regional hunters who join the same effort.
