Makoto Sekine

Sekine is cooperative and composed enough to integrate quickly into the mixed regional team. He does not display the territorial competitiveness that characterized some Gantz groups during earlier missions.

His ability to communicate in English makes him useful beyond direct combat and allows the Japanese hunters to exchange information with foreign Gantz participants.

Sekine also demonstrates trust in his teammates when the invasion exposes the group to threats for which their normal equipment offers no simple solution.

Sekine is an experienced hunter familiar with standard Gantz weapons and the enhanced suit.

He is capable of operating during the extraordinarily dangerous assault on the giant alien mothership and fighting alongside veteran hunters from several regional teams.

His English fluency is an important practical skill during encounters with international Gantz forces.

Sekine arrives after the Tokyo team calls for reinforcements and joins the operation aboard the alien ship.

He participates in the rescue of captured humans and the fighting against the giant civilization's soldiers and creatures.

Sekine is later infected by an alien spore that causes catastrophic mutation throughout his body. Unable to stop the transformation, he asks his companions for help, and Kurono ultimately uses the Z-Gun to end his suffering.

Kei Kurono helps organize the call that brings Sekine from Kyoto into the resistance. Kurono later grants Sekine's request for release from the horrific mutation caused by the alien spore.

Reika Shimohira helps broadcast the request for experienced hunters that Sekine answers.

Kaiji Yoshikawa fights alongside Sekine and responds when the infected hunter needs immediate physical assistance during his mutation.

Mary McClane, Hyouma Takeda and Ryuuji Maeshima are among the regional hunters participating in the same rescue effort.
