Sorachika Otogami

Sorachika is calm, unconventional, perceptive, and frequently detached from the priorities governing the rest of his family. He does not appear motivated by conventional ideas of winning or maintaining the Otogami brand to the same degree as several of his siblings.

He has an unusual way of interpreting both music and people. Rather than forcing experiences into familiar categories, Sorachika tends to accept things that others would immediately reject as strange or impossible. This makes his conversations difficult to predict but also allows him to recognize aspects of Lucky that remain hidden from everyone else.

Sorachika's independence eventually becomes increasingly important. His decisions are guided by his own understanding of music and identity rather than simple obedience to Gakuon.

Sorachika is an exceptional pianist even by the standards of the Otogami family. His playing is difficult for other musicians to imitate because its effect cannot easily be reduced to the recognizable fantasies produced by his siblings.

During the four-on-four piano battle, Sadame Hino attempts to reproduce the musical experiences of the Otogami siblings. He can imitate elements associated with Reijirou, Mimin, and Fanta, but Sorachika's playing resists the same treatment.

His performance against Sadame demonstrates the difference decisively, producing a unanimous audience result. Sorachika's music creates an experience that listeners struggle even to describe, placing his individuality beyond straightforward technical mimicry.

Sorachika also possesses an extraordinary awareness of Brilliant Lucky, the hidden prodigious personality within Lucky. He is able to hear and acknowledge this other Lucky when the rest of the family does not perceive him, creating a unique connection between them.

Sorachika initially appears around the growing conflict between Lucky's developing career and the established Otogami pianists. He confirms Lucky's connection to the family during the Student Music Concours and later becomes directly involved in the four-on-four piano battle organized around Fanta.

His match against Sadame demonstrates the limits of Sadame's copying ability. Sorachika's performance cannot simply be reconstructed by combining known characteristics from other pianists, reinforcing the importance of individual musical identity.

Sorachika's performance also becomes the point at which Lucky directly encounters Brilliant Lucky, revealing that another version of Lucky has existed beneath the personality everyone knows. Sorachika already knows of this presence and is the person Brilliant Lucky most wants to communicate with.

After the four-on-four battle and the upheaval within the Otogami family, Sorachika leaves for the United States. Fanta later goes after him, while Sorachika's understanding of Lucky remains important to the final conflict surrounding Lucky's identity and Gakuon.

Lucky Sonoda is Sorachika's brother. Sorachika understands Lucky Sonoda in an unusual way and is the only sibling able to perceive and communicate with Brilliant Lucky before that hidden personality openly manifests.

Gakuon Otogami is Sorachika's father and the person responsible for his elite musical upbringing. Sorachika's independence increasingly places his personal choices outside Gakuon Otogami's expectations.

Fanta Otogami is Sorachika's brother and another major participant in the four-on-four battle. Fanta later searches for Sorachika after Sorachika leaves for the United States.

Reijirou Otogami, Mimin Otogami, Don Otogami, and Sikato Otogami are Sorachika's fellow Otogami siblings and share his upbringing as prodigious pianists.

Sadame Hino faces Sorachika during the four-on-four battle. Sadame Hino's inability to reproduce Sorachika's music exposes the limit of his otherwise exceptional copying ability.
