Fanta Otogami

Fanta is charismatic, flirtatious, calculating, and highly aware of how other people perceive him. His playboy behavior is genuine enough to be a recognizable part of his personality, but his social intelligence also serves a professional purpose: he understands audiences and knows how to give them an experience they will enjoy.

He places considerable importance on the Otogami brand. Unlike Mimin Otogami, whose free-spirited playing rejects external expectations, Fanta understands the practical power of reputation and sees value in preserving the family's prestige.

That does not make him a simple extension of his father. Fanta develops his own beliefs about what audiences want and how musicians should connect with them. His apparently lighthearted demeanor can become serious when his family, career, or carefully constructed musical philosophy is challenged.

Fanta is a prodigious pianist whose defining strength is his ability to entertain. His performances create an amusement-park fantasy designed around excitement, pleasure, and the audience's desire to have fun.

Fanta's side brings together members of the Otogami family, while Lucky's side includes musicians whose goals and philosophies have developed outside Gakuon's system. The format turns their disagreements about talent, individuality, entertainment, and musical value into direct performances.

Fanta's own confrontation with Lucky exposes insecurities beneath his confident public image. Lucky's ability to reach individual emotional wishes threatens Fanta's understanding of entertainment because it creates connections that cannot be reduced to broad audience satisfaction.

Later developments show Fanta responding to the fragmentation of the family rather than simply protecting its brand. He eventually travels after Sorachika when his brother leaves for the United States, demonstrating a stronger personal attachment than his calculating presentation initially suggests.

Gakuon Otogami is Fanta's father and the architect of the Otogami family's international reputation. Fanta values the brand built around Gakuon Otogami and the six prodigious siblings, although his own philosophy of entertaining audiences is distinct.

Lucky Sonoda is Fanta's brother and eventually his direct musical opponent. Fanta initially evaluates Lucky Sonoda partly through the threat he poses to the Otogami name, while their confrontation forces Fanta to engage seriously with Lucky's ability to create deeply personal musical experiences.

Mimin Otogami is Fanta's older sister. Her rejection of restrictions and willingness to abandon expectations surrounding the Otogami name conflict strongly with Fanta's concern for the family's public identity.

Sorachika Otogami is Fanta's younger brother. After Sorachika leaves for the United States, Fanta follows him, revealing the personal concern beneath his otherwise pragmatic approach to family.

Don Otogami, Reijirou Otogami, and Sikato Otogami are Fanta's other siblings and fellow members of the group raised as Otogami prodigies.

Chocho Sonoda is Fanta's mother, from whom he is separated after his parents' marriage ends.
