Shaz Domino

Shaz is sadistic and self-assured. He takes pleasure in the destruction of the research institute and shows no concern for the scientists he kills or wounds.

He is also eager to advertise his power. When he encounters an unfamiliar opponent among the ruins, Shaz begins introducing himself and preparing an explanation rather than attacking immediately. That confidence leaves him exposed to a rapid counterattack.

Shaz manipulates Reishi to create multiple throwing knives bearing Wandenreich-style cross-shaped grips. These weapons can penetrate defensive barriers and inflict serious wounds on trained Shinigami.

As a Sternritter combatant, he possesses substantial spiritual pressure and access to basic Quincy techniques such as Reishi absorption and Blut. The manga does not complete his explanation of his individual power, leaving its designation and mechanics unrevealed within the primary story.

Supplementary material assigns Shaz the Greek letter stigma and describes a regenerative ability called The Viability, but those details originate outside the manga’s main narrative and are not required to understand his canonical invasion appearance.

Shaz enters the Research and Development Institute after the death of Captain-Commander Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto. He kills several researchers and embeds knives in Akon’s back while the scientist completes the process of freeing Ichigo Kurosaki from Quilge Opie’s Jail.

Shaz fails to recognize Ichigo as a Special War Power and attempts to introduce himself. Ichigo attacks before the explanation can continue, causing Shaz’s Reiatsu to disappear from the battlefield’s detectable activity. The encounter marks Ichigo’s immediate return to Seireitei and demonstrates the intensity of his anger after hearing the invasion’s casualties.

Yhwach is Shaz’s sovereign within the Wandenreich. Akon is his principal victim at the research institute, though the wounded Shinigami completes his work before Shaz can stop him.

Ichigo Kurosaki interrupts Shaz’s introduction and removes him from the immediate battle. Quilge Opie’s prison indirectly brings Shaz and Ichigo together because Akon frees Ichigo moments before their encounter.
