Sakugo openly identifies himself as a pervert and repeatedly expresses excitement about blood. He specifically describes his preferred girl as one covered in it.
He is also extremely confident in his combat prospects. When his turn comes to fight Najimi Ajimu, Sakugo warns her that she should regret not losing before having to face him.
The brevity of his individual role leaves little characterization beyond his blood fixation, confidence and participation in the Shiranui doubles' activities.

Sakugo waits aboard Black with the other apparent suitors and introduces himself before the rules of the Wedding Feast are explained. He becomes the fourth member of the group to challenge Ajimu.
Sakugo is subsequently revealed not to be the genuine Nienami representative. He was born into the Shiranui Household and later became affiliated with the Nienami family, where he serves as Namanie Nienami's double.
He later appears among Shiranui Household members confronted by Iihiko and eventually participates in Medaka's 100 Flowers Run.

Namanie Nienami is Sakugo's relative and the genuine Nienami representative for whom he serves as a double. Sakugo's attraction to blood also parallels Namanie's self-injuring sword style.
