Chomesuke is casual, friendly and comparatively easygoing for an Akuma. Cross Marian's modifications suppress much of her instinctive bloodlust, allowing her to cooperate naturally with humans and Exorcists.

She nevertheless remains affected by her Akuma nature. Higher-level Akuma frighten her instinctively, and resisting commands originating from The Millennium Earl causes severe distress.

Her interactions with Lavi are playful. Lavi is immediately interested in her human appearance, while Chomesuke accepts the strange nickname he gives her.

Chomesuke is a modified Level 2 Akuma. Like other Akuma of her level, she possesses substantial physical strength, durability and the ability to assume the appearance of the human body associated with her Akuma shell.

Cross's modifications partially suppress the Earl's control and bloodlust, allowing Chomesuke to act against the Noah Family. That independence is incomplete: commands embedded in Akuma can still exert powerful influence over her.

Her physical strength is sufficient to help move the survivors of Anita's ship toward Edo. Her usefulness to Cross also comes from being able to move through Akuma-controlled territory without immediately appearing to be an ally of the Black Order.

Chomesuke belongs to a group of Akuma modified by Cross Marian and stationed in Japan. She is sent to meet the Exorcists approaching Edo and warn them about conditions inside the country.

After the destruction of Anita's ship, Chomesuke helps the survivors reach land and guides Allen Walker's companions through Japan, explaining how extensively Akuma have infiltrated the population.

Chomesuke encounters Kawamura, another of Cross's modified Akuma, only to find her trapped and forced back under hostile influence. The encounter demonstrates that Cross's alterations cannot completely erase the Earl's authority over their Akuma nature.

During the battle in Edo, Chomesuke is ultimately destroyed amid the attacks unleashed by the Noah and Akuma forces.

Cross Marian modifies Chomesuke and becomes the person she serves instead of willingly following the Earl. His alterations allow her a degree of freedom ordinary Akuma do not possess.

Lavi gives her the nickname Chomesuke and shows immediate interest in her human form. Chomesuke responds warmly to him and worries about the group as they approach Edo.

Kawamura is another Akuma altered by Cross and an acquaintance of Chomesuke. Their reunion ends tragically when Kawamura loses the freedom Cross's modifications had given her.

The Millennium Earl remains the creator and underlying master of the Akuma. Even after Cross modifies Chomesuke, she cannot completely escape the mechanisms through which the Earl controls his creations.
