Allen Walker

アレン・ウォーカー

Story Role

Allen's path to the Black Order begins with Mana Walker, the travelling performer who adopts him. After Mana dies, the Millennium Earl manipulates the grieving Allen into calling his guardian back through the Akuma-making process. Mana's Akuma curses Allen's eye, while Allen's Innocence activates and destroys the resulting Akuma.

Cross Marian subsequently trains Allen as an Exorcist and eventually sends him to Black Order headquarters. There he meets Lenalee Lee, Yu Kanda, Lavi and the other people who become his new family while the search for Innocence develops into an escalating war against the Millennium Earl and the Noah.

Allen eventually learns that he carries the memories of Nea D. Campbell, the Fourteenth Noah, whose consciousness is gradually awakening inside him. This makes Allen a target not only for the Noah Family but also for factions within the Black Order that regard his transformation as an existential threat.

Further revelations destabilize what Allen believes about Mana and his own past. Mana Walker is connected directly to Mana D. Campbell and the Millennium Earl, while Allen's own history before meeting Mana proves increasingly difficult to reconcile with his apparent age and memories. These mysteries become central to the later manga.

After the Order attempts to confine him and the Fourteenth's emergence becomes increasingly difficult to suppress, Allen leaves the organization rather than allow himself to be controlled. He continues moving forward under his own name while searching for the truth behind Mana, Nea and his forgotten past.
