Ryuu Kuzu

Kuzuryuu is composed, informative and confident in Shiragiri’s ability to conceal him. He takes time to question Uryuu about Quincy movement techniques and explain his own weapon.

After surviving defeat, he reveals greater ambition by attempting to replace Hanza. His opportunism proves fatal when he turns against Kumoi without sufficient leverage.

Shiragiri fills an area with dark mist through Mugen Kairou. Kuzuryuu can merge with the fog, produce numerous shadow decoys and attack from concealed positions.

A further power increase gives the weapon a second blade. Unlike Zanpakutō, Shiragiri converts its wielder’s spiritual force directly into power and risks consuming him through prolonged use.

Kuzuryuu traps Uryuu on a rooftop within a mist-filled illusion. Uryuu determines the boundaries of the technique and catches him in Sprenger, defeating but not killing him.

Kuzuryuu returns to Kumoi and demands Hanza’s former command. When Kumoi rejects him, Kuzuryuu attacks; Makoto Kibune intervenes and kills him.

Hanza Nukui is Kuzuryuu’s original commander, while Gyokaku Kumoi employs the assassination unit.

Uryuu Ishida defeats Kuzuryuu without killing him. Makoto Kibune kills him when he attempts to turn against Kumoi.
