Nous

Nous is cruel and sadistic toward the humans hunted at Goldy Pond. He enjoys pursuing frightened children and initially views their attempts at resistance as part of the game.

Compared with Nouma, however, Nous can be more cautious when prey begins behaving unexpectedly. He recognizes that traps may be involved and does not rely entirely on his physical superiority.

His strongest emotional attachment is to Nouma. The siblings' affection for one another is genuine despite the complete absence of empathy they display toward their victims.

Nous possesses the strength, speed, senses and regenerative capabilities of an aristocratic humanoid demon. He wields a large spear and can quickly close the distance between himself and human opponents.

A protective mask covers his central eye. Beneath that primary eye are additional smaller eyes, giving his unmasked face a distinctive appearance.

Nous can acquire characteristics and memories by consuming another demon. After eating Nouma's body, his physical form changes and he gains access to aspects of his sister, substantially increasing the danger he presents to the surviving resistance fighters.

Nous joins Nouma among the nobles invited to participate in Bayon's Goldy Pond hunts. The siblings normally patrol and hunt as a pair.

When the Goldy Pond Resistance launches its uprising, Sonya, Sandy, Violet and Paula are assigned to confront the siblings. The children use traps, coordinated movement and gunfire to overcome the enormous physical disadvantage between humans and demons.

Paula kills Nouma after the resistance removes her mask. Devastated, Nous consumes his sister and attacks with renewed ferocity, overwhelming the exhausted children. Yugo ultimately intervenes and shoots Nous through his vital eye.

Nouma is Nous's sister, closest companion and regular hunting partner. Her death devastates him, and he consumes her body before continuing the battle with aspects of her form and memories incorporated into himself.

Bayon operates Goldy Pond and includes Nous among the aristocratic demons participating in its hunts.

Leuvis is another member of the Poachers and fellow demon noble.

Luce participates in the same hunting group.

Sonya, Sandy, Violet and Paula are the resistance fighters assigned to battle Nous and Nouma.

Yugo intervenes after Nous overwhelms the resistance team and kills him with a shot through the vital eye.
