Sonya

Sonya is dependable, intelligent and composed. As Oliver's second-in-command, she takes responsibility for other children and helps turn a collection of hunted orphans into an organized resistance.

She cares strongly about her companions and shares their determination to end the hunts permanently rather than merely survive another round.

Her ability to stay focused under pressure is particularly important during the resistance's coordinated attacks, where mistimed actions can expose several fighters at once.

Sonya is trained in firearms and the tactics developed by the Goldy Pond Resistance. She understands how to coordinate attacks against demons whose physical abilities vastly exceed those of humans.

She can target masks to expose a demon's central eye and works effectively as part of multi-person firing teams.

Her position as second-in-command also reflects organizational and leadership ability rather than combat skill alone.

Sonya is raised at Grand Valley before being shipped to Goldy Pond. There she becomes part of the resistance organized to destroy the hunting reserve.

By the time Emma arrives, Sonya is Oliver's second-in-command and one of the members entrusted with coordinating the planned uprising.

During the Goldy Pond battle, Sonya and Sandy confront Nous and Nouma. Sonya helps create the opening that allows Violet and Paula to attack Nouma's exposed vital eye.

After the Poachers are defeated, Sonya leaves Goldy Pond with the surviving children and joins the larger community at Shelter B06-32.

Oliver is Sonya's leader and closest superior within the resistance.

Lucas helps train and organize Sonya and the other Goldy Pond children.

Sandy fights directly alongside Sonya during the operation against Nous and Nouma.

Violet and Paula coordinate their gunfire with Sonya during the Goldy Pond battle.

Emma becomes an important new ally when she joins the resistance shortly before its uprising.
