Mr. 9

Mr. 9 is theatrical, excitable, and highly confident in his acrobatic fighting style. He embraces the royal imagery of his codename through his crown and frequently behaves as though he possesses greater authority than his actual rank provides.

He participates in Baroque Works’ deception and bounty hunting without evident hesitation, including the attempt to kill Laboon for food. Even so, he is not devoid of loyalty or compassion. His partnership with Miss Wednesday becomes a genuine friendship despite an organizational culture built around secrecy and expendable agents.

Once forced to choose, Mr. 9 acts courageously. He knows that the Officer Agents pursuing Miss Wednesday outclass him, yet he confronts them so that she can escape.

Mr. 9 is an agile fighter who uses tumbling, leaps, and gymnastic movements to build momentum. He carries two steel bats whose ends can be fired on cables, extending his striking range and allowing him to attack from unexpected angles.

His techniques combine acrobatics with repeated bat strikes, making him effective against ordinary targets. He also carries a bazooka during the attempt to hunt Laboon, demonstrating familiarity with heavier weapons.

Mr. 9 has no known Devil Fruit ability. He is strong enough to qualify as a Baroque Works Frontier Agent but remains considerably weaker than the organization’s Officer Agents and is quickly overwhelmed by Gem.

Mr. 9 and Nefertari Vivi, disguised as Miss Wednesday, enter Laboon’s body while trying to kill the whale and bring his meat to Whisky Peak. Crocus protects Laboon, and Monkey D. Luffy knocks the two agents unconscious before later agreeing to transport them home.

At Whisky Peak, Mr. 9 joins the town’s bounty hunters in attacking the Straw Hats after their welcoming feast. Roronoa Zoro defeats the assembled agents, including Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday.

When Gem and Mikita expose Vivi’s identity, Mr. 9 declares that she is still his partner and attempts to delay them. Gem defeats him and throws him into the river, but his resistance helps demonstrate that Vivi formed genuine friendships during her infiltration. A later cover story shows Mr. 9 married to Miss Monday and raising a child with her in Whisky Peak.

Nefertari Vivi is Mr. 9’s assigned Baroque Works partner. Although unaware of her identity at first, Mr. 9 develops enough loyalty toward Nefertari Vivi to defend her after her infiltration is exposed.

Miss Monday is Mr. 9’s fellow Frontier Agent and later wife. [Mr. 9] and [Miss Monday] cannot be linked inside spoiler markup, so their later marriage and child are established without additional names here.

Gem defeats Mr. 9 when he protects Nefertari Vivi. Mikita accompanies Gem during the purge of the exposed infiltrators.

Laboon is Mr. 9’s intended prey at Reverse Mountain, while Crocus blocks his attacks. Roronoa Zoro defeats Mr. 9 during the battle at Whisky Peak.
