Personality
Personality
Mira is independent, strong-willed, and resistant to having her future dictated by royal expectations. Her frustration can make her abrasive or impulsive, particularly when surrounded by officials who treat her primarily as a member of the royal family rather than as a young woman.
She also has a rebellious streak. Mira smokes despite her position and eagerly takes advantage of opportunities to escape formal obligations. Her time away from her attendants in Japan reveals how strongly she wants to experience an ordinary life.
Beneath that resistance is considerable courage. When circumstances force Mira to confront responsibilities she would rather avoid, she is capable of putting personal desires aside and thinking about what her country needs from her.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Mira has no supernatural abilities and is not primarily a combatant. She nevertheless demonstrates physical courage and enough resourcefulness to act independently despite the dangers surrounding her.
Her royal upbringing has given her familiarity with diplomacy, ceremonial responsibilities, and the political structure of Vespania. She also proves capable of making difficult decisions under pressure once she accepts that others depend upon her.
Story Role
Story Role
Mira is introduced during a period of crisis for Vespania. Her mother, Queen Sakura, and her older brother, Prince Gill, die in what is initially presented as a tragic hunting accident, placing Mira next in line to the throne.
During a diplomatic visit to Japan, Mira encounters Ran, whose appearance is remarkably similar to her own. The resemblance allows Mira to exchange clothes with Ran and escape her official duties. Fujiko Mine subsequently accompanies Mira around Tokyo while Ran becomes entangled with the Vespania delegation.
Conan and Lupin ultimately uncover the truth behind the deaths in Mira's family and expose Duke Gerard's role in the conspiracy. Mira accepts her responsibility to Vespania and succeeds her mother as queen.
