Kairai Kugurugi

Kairai is openly masochistic and describes himself as a pervert who enjoys being stepped on. He even imagines Medaka stepping on him every morning if they were to marry.

His behavior can also be deliberately cruel. He is willing to taunt other people about painful subjects simply to provoke a reaction, making his perversity only one part of a broader malicious streak.

Kamome Tsurubami senses an especially unpleasant aura from Kairai, placing him alongside Gizou Yuzuriha as one of the doubles who immediately inspires distrust.

Kairai is trained as a member of the Shiranui Household and is capable enough to participate in the preliminary battles of the Wedding Feast.

His personal abilities receive little demonstration because his principal fight is against Ajimu, whose enormous collection of skills allows her to defeat the apparent suitors before most can fully establish their capabilities.

No individually named Abnormality, Minus or Style is established for Kairai.

Kairai appears among the apparent suitors aboard Black, where he introduces himself and participates in the sequence of confrontations against Ajimu.

His role becomes more important once the purpose of the apparent suitors is explained. Kairai was born into the Shiranui Household before becoming affiliated with the Kugurugi family, and he serves as the double of the family's genuine representative, Mogura Kugurugi.

The revelation connects him to the Shiranui Household's ancient system of creating substitutes for important individuals, making the first group of "suitors" part of a larger deception surrounding the Wedding Feast.

Mogura Kugurugi is Kairai's relative and the genuine Kugurugi representative for whom he serves as a double.

Medaka Kurokami is the prospective bride at the center of the Jet Black Wedding Feast. Kairai directs his masochistic fantasies toward Medaka Kurokami during his introduction.

Najimi Ajimu fights Kairai aboard Black and overwhelms him during the preliminary battles.

Kamome Tsurubami distrusts Kairai and senses an especially bad aura from him.

Gizou Yuzuriha is another Shiranui double whom Kamome Tsurubami groups with Kairai because of the similarly unpleasant impression they create.

Hanten Shiranui is the ancient founder of the Shiranui Household from which Kairai originates.
