Juugo Yokomizo

Juugo is stern, serious, impatient, and intimidating. His permanent-looking scowl and blunt manner make him less approachable than Sango, particularly when questioning suspects.

He is also more skeptical of Kogorou Mouri than his brother. Where Sango enthusiastically admires Sleeping Kogoro, Juugo is more likely to question Kogorou's behavior or become irritated by his involvement.

Beneath his harsh exterior, Juugo is a dedicated police officer. He takes his responsibilities seriously and can cooperate effectively with civilians and officers from other jurisdictions when a case requires it.

Juugo is an experienced homicide investigator skilled in interrogations, evidence assessment, crime-scene management, and coordinating police personnel.

He is generally portrayed as competent and capable of forming reasonable investigative theories without relying entirely on Conan's deductions. His direct manner can also be effective when pressuring suspects for information.

Juugo shares his brother's childhood fear of the sea, although he is considerably more willing than Sango to approach the water.

Juugo first appears during a case in Kanagawa and subsequently becomes the recurring police representative for investigations in the prefecture. This repeatedly brings him into contact with Conan's group during trips outside Tokyo.

His role expands through his connection with other Kanagawa officers, particularly Chihaya Hagiwara, and through cases that involve cooperation with Sango.

Unlike his brother, Juugo rarely idolizes the private detectives who become involved in his cases, giving investigations under his command a different dynamic.

Sango Yokomizo is Juugo's older twin brother. The brothers began their police careers together but developed markedly different personalities and professional styles.

Chihaya Hagiwara is Juugo's colleague in the Kanagawa Prefectural Police. Their frequent exchanges mix professional cooperation with arguments and teasing.

Kogorou Mouri regularly becomes involved in Juugo's investigations, although Juugo does not share his brother's enthusiastic admiration for Kogorou Mouri.

Conan Edogawa repeatedly assists in cases under Juugo's jurisdiction, usually without Juugo realizing the full extent of Conan's deductions.
