Sango Yokomizo

Sango is energetic, friendly, excitable, and highly respectful of Kogorou. He treats the private detective as a brilliant investigator and often accepts his apparent deductions with considerably less skepticism than other police officers.

His enthusiasm can make him hasty. He occasionally settles on suspects or theories before all of the evidence has been properly considered, giving Conan opportunities to redirect the investigation.

Sango is nevertheless a sincere police officer who takes murder investigations seriously. His friendliness toward Conan's group contrasts with the more abrasive demeanor of his twin brother.

Sango is an experienced police inspector with training in homicide investigation, interrogation, evidence assessment, and crime-scene management.

He is capable of developing his own theories and managing investigations without Kogorou's involvement, even though his admiration for Sleeping Kogoro can make him overly receptive to Kogorou's mistaken conclusions.

His distinctive interrogation style can be intense, with Sango sometimes moving extremely close to a suspect while questioning them.

Sango first encounters Conan's group while serving with the Saitama Prefectural Police and later transfers to Shizuoka. This makes him a recurring regional investigator whenever cases take Conan and the Mouri family into his jurisdiction.

His appearances frequently occur at resorts, hotels, villas, festivals, and other locations visited by the main cast outside Tokyo. Rather than functioning as a one-case officer, he becomes one of the series' most recognizable prefectural police characters.

His twin relationship with Jugo later expands his role by connecting the Shizuoka police cast with investigations involving Kanagawa.

Jugo Yokomizo is Sango's identical twin brother and a fellow police inspector. Despite their physical resemblance, Jugo Yokomizo is considerably more cynical and abrasive.

Kogorou Mouri is a detective Sango deeply admires. Sango enthusiastically anticipates Kogorou Mouri's deductions whenever they meet during a case.

Conan Edogawa repeatedly assists investigations under Sango's jurisdiction, although Sango generally attributes the decisive deductions to Kogorou.

Ran Mouri frequently encounters Sango while traveling with Conan and Kogorou.
