Hiroshi

Hiroshi is cheerful, energetic and teasing. Kyou's short temper does not discourage him; instead, it gives Hiroshi and Yuusuke more opportunities to joke with their friend.

He is sociable with other members of the class as well and participates readily in games, festivals and casual conversations. His behavior toward Kyou is notable for how ordinary it is.

Hiroshi can be nosy about his classmates' personal lives, but the curiosity is generally playful rather than malicious.

Hiroshi has no supernatural abilities and no specialized skills established in the story.

He participates in ordinary school activities and games with his classmates. Unlike Kyou and the Zodiac members, his role remains entirely outside the supernatural side of the narrative.

Hiroshi appears throughout the school portions of the story, usually alongside Yuusuke. The pair play poker with Saki Hanajima, participate in school festivals and routinely draw Kyou into conversations.

As Kyou becomes more comfortable at Kaibara, these friendships become increasingly significant. After Kyou begins openly building a future with Tooru, Hiroshi and the other classmates are delighted by how much more socially open he has become.

Kyou Souma is Hiroshi's friend and frequent target for teasing. Hiroshi and Yuusuke nickname him "Kyon-Kyon," much to Kyou's annoyance.

Yuusuke is Hiroshi's closest recurring companion at school; the two are almost always seen participating in class life together.

Saki Hanajima gets along well with Hiroshi and regularly proves difficult for him to beat at poker.

Arisa Uotani and Tooru Honda are part of the same wider school circle and interact comfortably with Hiroshi.
