Hiroki Tsuji

Tsuji is confident and independent. When the police warn him that he may be in danger and recommend canceling his planned helicopter flight, he refuses to abandon it, although he agrees to let Juzo Megure and Kogoro Mouri accompany him.

He takes his professional golf career seriously and is preparing to compete in the U.S. Open. His willingness to continue with his plans despite a possible threat demonstrates confidence that borders on stubbornness.

Tsuji is a professional golfer competing at a level high enough to prepare for the U.S. Open. His career therefore requires considerable athletic ability, coordination and technical expertise in golf.

He is also an experienced recreational helicopter pilot. Tsuji is capable of operating his own aircraft and understands its controls well enough to participate in an emergency landing even when his vision is severely impaired.

After his eyes become dangerously sensitive to light in mid-flight, Tsuji can no longer pilot normally. With instructions from Conan and assistance from the other passengers, he helps bring the helicopter down at Teitan Elementary School before everyone escapes the damaged aircraft.

Tsuji first encounters Kogoro Mouri, Eri Kisaki, Ran Mouri and Conan Edogawa at the French restaurant La Fleur. He mentions that he is training for the U.S. Open.

As attacks begin targeting people whose names correspond to playing-card values, Conan realizes that the character for ten in Tsuji's surname makes the golfer a likely target. Police rush to warn him before his planned helicopter flight.

Someone has secretly replaced Tsuji's usual eye drops with mydriatic medication. After applying them, his pupils dilate and direct sunlight becomes intolerable while he is flying. Conan takes control of the emergency and guides the helicopter toward Teitan Elementary, where it crash-lands before exploding.

Tsuji survives the attack, but the medication's effects are expected to last long enough to prevent him from competing in the U.S. Open. The attack later proves to be part of the larger false pattern constructed around the playing-card targets.

Kogoro Mouri is an acquaintance of Tsuji and recognizes him when they meet at La Fleur. Their connection makes Tsuji appear to fit the pattern of attacks against people associated with Kogoro Mouri.

Juzo Megure warns Tsuji about the danger and accompanies him on his helicopter flight after Tsuji refuses to cancel it.

Conan Edogawa secretly boards Tsuji's helicopter. [When Tsuji becomes unable to see properly, Conan Edogawa uses his knowledge of the controls to help guide the aircraft into an emergency landing.](#spoiler)

Kohei Sawaki is connected to the series of attacks in which Tsuji is targeted. Sawaki replaces Tsuji's eye drops with medication that causes severe light sensitivity, deliberately creating the dangerous situation during his helicopter flight.
