Amachi is portrayed primarily through the absurdity surrounding Gintaman's production rather than through extensive personal characterization. His gigantic gorilla appearance deliberately echoes the recurring way Gintama represents its real creator, Hideaki Sorachi. The distinction is that Amachi is a fictional professional within the series rather than Sorachi appearing directly as himself.
