Genbu

Genbu is confident in the defensive advantages provided by his stone body. He enjoys demonstrating how ordinary attacks fail against him and assumes his ability to move through rock gives him complete control over the battlefield.

He is also impatient once Kurama begins understanding his technique. Rather than changing tactics, Genbu continues relying on the same fragmentation ability that ultimately exposes his weakness.

Genbu's body consists of stone, giving him substantial resistance to ordinary physical attacks. He can merge directly into walls and other rock surfaces, travel through them and emerge from unexpected directions.

His signature ability allows him to disassemble himself into numerous stone fragments. These pieces can move through the air and repeatedly reassemble, making conventional attacks ineffective.

A single vital core controls this fragmented body. The core shifts between pieces as Genbu reconstructs himself, but an opponent capable of identifying it can bypass the protection offered by the rest of his stone form.

Genbu guards the first major stage of Maze Castle when Yusuke's group enters the fortress to stop the Makai Insect outbreak. Kurama remains behind to fight him while the others continue.

Genbu repeatedly disperses his body, expecting Kurama to be unable to distinguish the vital component among the moving fragments. Kurama instead studies the pattern of reconstruction.

Once Kurama identifies the core controlling Genbu's body, he seizes and destroys it, causing the rest of the demon's stone body to collapse.

Kurama is Genbu's opponent at Maze Castle and discovers the weakness of his fragmented body.

Suzaku leads the Four Saint Beasts and directs their campaign against the Human World.

Byakko, Seiryu and Suzaku are Genbu's fellow Saint Beasts.

Yusuke Urameshi, Kazuma Kuwabara and Hiei accompany Kurama into Maze Castle before continuing ahead while he battles Genbu.
