Gawain

Gawain is composed, observant and casually violent. He remains attentive even when confronting opponents by surprise, noticing subtle signs that Agito has detected his presence.

His constant smoking and gothic clothing contribute to an intentionally detached presentation. Gawain behaves as though dangerous assignments are routine rather than exceptional.

He is also ruthless in carrying out Genesis's orders. When ordered to turn against Trident, he is willing to threaten Osaka itself in order to force Yoshitsune into an impossible tactical position.

Gawain rides the Gladius Road. His black Ball Roller-type Air Trecks carry interconnected edged blades behind the heels, forming flexible cutting weapons.

The linked blades can be extended and separated during combat, allowing Gawain to slash or pierce targets at greater range than an ordinary kick would permit. They can cut both human opponents and machinery.

As a Gravity Child, Gawain possesses enhanced spatial perception and physical ability. His speed and athleticism allow him to use the Gladius weapons while maintaining the high mobility expected of Genesis's elite riders.

The manga does not identify a traditional Eight Roads Regalia for Gawain, and the Gladius Road is therefore best treated as his specialized combat style rather than assigning him an unsupported King title.

Gawain first appears with Nike Takeuchi, Percival, Merlin and Morrigan after Kogarasumaru's encounter with the original Sleeping Forest simulation.

Their arrival demonstrates that Genesis has access to additional Gravity Children beyond the better-known Kings. Gawain quickly establishes himself as a dangerous close-combat rider.

Gawain and Percival are later ordered to eliminate Trident. Yoshitsune initially outclasses Gawain, but Gawain uses the threat of attacking Osaka to prevent the Rumble King from fighting without restraint.

During Trident's counterattack, Yoshitsune destroys Percival's A-T railgun. The resulting debris kills Gawain while he is immobilized in position, ending his role in Genesis's assault on Osaka.

Nike Takeuchi is one of the senior Genesis figures alongside whom Gawain first appears.

Percival is Gawain's principal partner during Genesis's attack on Trident. The two coordinate by forcing Yoshitsune to divide his attention between fighting them and protecting Osaka.

Yoshitsune becomes Gawain's major opponent during the destruction of Trident. Yoshitsune proves individually superior but is constrained by the threat to the city.

Benkei fights beside Yoshitsune during Trident's resistance to Gawain and Percival.

Agito Wanijima encounters Gawain during his introductory attack and is perceptive enough to notice his presence.

Falko is also caught in the Genesis group's initial assault.
