Garogai

Garogai is direct, combative, and proud of his strength. He prefers overpowering opponents at close range, meeting elaborate weapons and spiritual techniques with punches, throws, and relentless pursuit.

He is not mindlessly aggressive. Garogai adjusts after seeing an opponent’s technique and announces when he believes the same tactic will no longer work. His loyalty to Shuren is practical and unquestioning throughout the group’s escape attempt.

Garogai can launch one arm away from his body while keeping it connected by an extensible length of flesh. The limb operates like a grappling hook: it can seize opponents, pull Garogai across the battlefield, or hurl a captured target through the air.

His raw strength is formidable. He lifts and throws enormous stone structures, creates waves by striking or moving the environment, and breaks sections of Renji Abarai’s Bankai with a punch. He also withstands powerful impacts and can emerge from Hell’s hazardous terrain after apparently being submerged.

Garogai remains subject to Hell’s regenerative system. Even severe bodily destruction does not guarantee a permanent death for him within that realm.

Garogai helps Shuren’s group abduct Ichigo’s sisters and later intercepts the rescue party on Hell’s second level. He attacks several members of the group before settling into a prolonged confrontation with Renji.

Renji’s Hikotsu Taihō knocks him into molten terrain, but Garogai returns and shatters part of Hihiō Zabimaru. Renji answers by using the broken Bankai fragments in Higa Zekkō, impaling him from several directions.

Garogai reforms and joins the later attack on Kokutō, who cuts him in half while defending Yuzu. When Shuren’s scheme fails, the Kushanāda drag Garogai and his surviving companions into the depths of Hell.

Shuren is Garogai’s leader and assigns him to stop Ichigo’s party.

Taikon, Gunjō, and Murakumo are his fellow Togabito.

Renji Abarai becomes Garogai’s principal opponent in Hell. Rukia Kuchiki briefly repels him, while Ichigo Kurosaki remains the group’s primary target. Kokutō later bisects him during the confrontation with Shuren.
