Emilio Baretti

Emilio is sensitive, anxious, and increasingly distressed by the situation surrounding his Japanese concert. Although successful enough to attract an international fanbase, he does not display the arrogance associated with his celebrity status.

His desperation can lead him to make reckless decisions. At the same time, his fear is not simply concern for himself; he recognizes that events surrounding his career have become connected to dangerous criminal activity.

Emilio responds positively to Ran's straightforward concern for him. Her refusal to treat him merely as a celebrity helps him speak more openly about what is actually troubling him.

Emilio has no combat or supernatural abilities. His established talent is singing, having built a professional career as an Italian pop performer with enough international recognition to headline concerts in Japan.

He is accustomed to live performance and the demands of an international music career, although the film focuses more heavily on the criminal circumstances surrounding his tour than on his musical technique.

Emilio arrives in Japan accompanied by manager Claudia Belucci and producer Luciano Carnevale. A threatening letter warns that he will be killed unless his concert is cancelled, prompting police involvement.

Emilio later slips away with Ran and Sonoko and visits Tokyo Skytree. His increasingly desperate behavior convinces the others that there is more behind the threat than initially appears.

Emilio confesses that he created the threatening letter himself. He discovered that Carnevale was using his international concert tours as cover for illegal transactions and hoped that an apparent threat against his life would force the Japanese performance to be cancelled.

The concert ultimately proceeds while Conan and Lupin's group pursue the criminal operation behind Carnevale's activities.

Claudia Belucci is Emilio's manager and one of the people most genuinely concerned about his welfare.

Daisuke Jigen appears among Emilio's entourage as a bodyguard while pursuing a separate objective connected to the larger conspiracy.
