Sonoko Suzuki

Sonoko is sociable, excitable, outspoken, and fascinated by romance. She frequently becomes infatuated with attractive young men and drags Ran into social events, vacations, concerts, and other outings in pursuit of entertainment.

Her wealth rarely dictates how she treats her friends. Sonoko is comfortable in luxurious Suzuki properties but does not expect Ran or her classmates to defer to her social status. She can be boastful and temperamental, yet she is genuinely loyal and quickly becomes serious when someone she cares about is endangered.

After meeting Makoto, her tendency to chase attractive men gradually coexists with genuine devotion to him. Their long-distance relationship becomes one of Sonoko's most stable emotional commitments.

Sonoko has no extraordinary combat or deductive ability. She is nevertheless reasonably resourceful and confident, and her access to the Suzuki family's properties, events, and social connections frequently places the main cast in unusual settings.

Conan occasionally tranquilizes Sonoko with his Stun-Gun Wristwatch and uses the Voice-Changing Bowtie to present deductions in her voice. Because she remembers none of these performances, Sonoko comes to believe she possesses an unusual subconscious talent for solving cases and embraces the nickname "Deduction Queen Sonoko."

She also participates in her school's tennis club, though athletics are not a major focus of her characterization.

Sonoko is one of Ran's most frequent companions and a recurring bridge between the main cast and the Suzuki family's enormous business empire. Parties, resorts, exhibitions, concerts, and other events involving her relatives regularly become settings for cases.

Her family's wealth also connects her to Kaitou Kid, particularly through her uncle Jirokichi Suzuki, whose elaborate attempts to defeat the thief become recurring public spectacles.

Sonoko's relationship with Makoto gives her stories a separate romantic thread from Ran and Shinichi. Makoto's international karate career often keeps them apart, but their affection remains mutual.

Ran Mouri is Sonoko's closest friend. They have known each other since childhood, and Sonoko remains fiercely loyal to Ran Mouri despite constantly teasing her.

Shinichi Kudo is Sonoko's classmate and childhood acquaintance. She frequently comments on Shinichi Kudo's relationship with Ran.

Conan Edogawa accompanies Sonoko on numerous cases. Unknown to her, Conan Edogawa sometimes uses her unconscious body and imitated voice to solve cases publicly.

Makoto Kyogoku is Sonoko's boyfriend and an internationally formidable karate practitioner. Sonoko's affection for Makoto Kyogoku becomes much more serious than her earlier fleeting crushes.

Jirokichi Suzuki is Sonoko's uncle and an enthusiastic rival of Kaitou Kid.

Kaitou Kid repeatedly becomes involved with the Suzuki family through Jirokichi Suzuki's challenges, often placing Sonoko at the scene of his heists.
